How the risk level works
RIVA looks for known warning signs in what you entered. Each sign adds weight. The level depends on the total weight, and a few serious signs set a minimum level on their own. The level describes the warning signs. It is not a chance that the seller is a scammer.
- Very low riskFew or no warning signs were found. This is not proof the seller is genuine. Check them before paying.
- Low riskA few warning signs were found. Check each one before you pay.
- Medium riskSeveral warning signs, or one serious sign such as a request for gift cards. Do not pay until you have verified the seller.
- High riskMany serious warning signs, or a payment to an account that does not match the one the business registered. Do not pay.
- Critical riskStrong scam signs. Do not send money or personal details.
